All car shelters come with standard U-anchors, which are the basic anchors included with purchase.

However, these anchors are often insufficient to withstand the harsh weather conditions of Québec.

That’s why we recommend considering a few additional options to reinforce the stability of your shelter.

OPTION 1 – Permanent Anchors

These anchors are fixed directly into the ground and provide strong, durable stability.

Shelter Size Permanent Anchors Number of Sections (± 4–5 ft each) Layout
8' 4 2 sections 2 anchors per side
12' and 15' 4 3 sections 2 anchors per side
16' 4 4 sections 2 anchors per side
20' 4 4 or 5 sections 2 anchors per side
24' and 25' 6 5 or 6 sections 2 anchors per side
28' and 30' 6 6 or 7 sections 3 anchors per side
32' and 35' 6 7 or 8 sections 3 anchors per side
36' 8 9 sections 4 anchors per side
40' 8 8 or 10 sections 4 anchors per side

OPTION 2 – Temporary Anchors (Concrete Blocks)

You can purchase these at most hardware stores or local suppliers.
Trévi recommends using 6 blocks per section of 4 to 5 feet, which equals 3 blocks on each side.

Shelter Size Concrete Blocks Number of Sections (± 4–5 ft each) Layout
8' 12 2 sections 3 blocks per side × 2 sections
12' and 15' 18 3 sections 3 blocks per side × 3 sections
16' 24 4 sections 3 blocks per side × 4 sections
20' 30 4 or 5 sections 3 blocks per side × 5 sections
24' and 25' 36 5 or 6 sections 3 blocks per side × 6 sections
28' and 30' 42 6 or 7 sections 3 blocks per side × 7 sections
32' and 35' 48 7 or 8 sections 3 blocks per side × 8 sections
36' 54 9 sections 3 blocks per side × 9 sections
40' 60 8 or10 sections 3 blocks per side × 10 sections

OPTION 3 – Wind Straps

Easy installation
They are installed horizontally, about 3–4 feet from the ground, and are not dependent on the shelter’s height.
Simply attach two straps per shelter, one on each end.

The wind strips are placed directly on the roof of the shelter, from the right side to the left side. Once installed, they are stretched and held firmly to the ground using twisted stakes, which ensures greater stability and limits the effect of the wind on the structure.

We offer the installation of this item only when installing a Trévi car shelter.

How to correctly anchor your car shelter

Each Trévi shelter comes with a basic anchoring system. Given the severity of Quebec winters, it is strongly recommended that these anchors be combined with another type, such as concrete blocks, wind strips, or permanent anchors.
