FAQ

A canvasbubblesplaced on the water which:

  • Limits evaporation(often 70–95%), therefore less heat loss.
  • Retains heat at nightthanks to theinsulation created by the air bubbles.
  • Reduces product consumption(less evaporation and UV on the water).
  • 9mil lightweight, economicalheats up quicklybut shorter lifespan.
  • 11 mil better balanceheat/lifespan/handling.

The thickness plays a role instrength and insulation; THEsolar gaindepends mainly on the amount of sunshine and thecolor/transparency.

  • Takeslightly larger, let it relaxthe canvas in the sun for 1–2 hours, thencuttingat theminus 1–2 cmfrom the wall to avoid snagging.
  • Avoid cutting too short; some canvasesshrinkA little bit with the heat.

Yes.Bubbles DOWN(in contact with water): they create theinsulating layerand prevent the tarpaulin from slipping. Smooth side up.

  • At night: put up the canvas. It greatly limits losses through evaporation and retains accumulated heat.
  • During the day: remove the canvas. The water receives direct sunlight and heats up faster.
  • Swimming & treatments:remove for swimming and during ashock; to wait for12–24 hdepending on the product, thenrinsethe canvas before putting it back.
  • Useful exception:in weathervery windy/cool, we canleave the canvas in placeeven during the day to reduce losses rather than blocking solar input.

Common causes:

  • Aggressive chemistry(low pH, high chlorine, shock to the existing canvas).
  • Overheating in the sun
  • Wet/folded storagefor a long time (stagnant chlorinated water).

    Corrections:
  • Remove the canvas for everythingshock treatment, rinseafter swimming/products,coverthe (UV-resistant) roller shutter, anddrybefore prolonged storage.
  • Evaporationreduced70 to 95%→ thousands of litres saved per season depending on the surface area.
  • Heat: nighttime losses greatly reduced → more stable water, shorter heating start-ups.
  • Products:-30 to -60%consumption (less UV and evaporation), more waterstableand easy maintenance.
