Pool water testing kits

Both methods measure essential water parameters, but they offer different levels of accuracy:

- The test strips are quick, easy to use, and ideal for regular monitoring. Simply dip them in water and compare the color obtained with the provided scale. They are ideal for frequent and convenient use.

- Liquid kits require a little more handling (take a water sample, add a few drops of reagent, observe the color change), but they offer high accuracy.

Bottom line: Strips are convenient and quick for everyday use, while liquid kits are preferred for more accurate analysis and in-depth monitoring of water balance.

When testing water, certain indicators are essential to ensure clear, balanced and pleasant water for swimming:

- pH: ideally between 7.2 and 7.6 to ensure comfort and product effectiveness.

- The disinfectant level (chlorine, bromine, etc.): it must be sufficient to eliminate bacteria and impurities.

- Total alkalinity (TAC): it stabilizes the pH and must remain within the recommended range.

- Calcium hardness (TH): too low, the water becomes corrosive; too high, it promotes scale.

It is recommended to test the water at least once or twice a week to maintain a good chemical balance. During heat waves, after heavy rainfall, or when the pool is heavily used, more frequent testing helps prevent cloudy water or algae problems.

When results are abnormal, appropriate corrective products must be added, respecting the recommended dosages. It is important to let the water circulate for a few hours before retesting to ensure that the balance has been restored.
