Pool degreaser and clarifier - Trévi Wintercide

One day before closing the pool, take the time to do a thorough cleaning. Carefully clean the water, surfaces, liner, and filter. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

1. Use the leaf skimmer with the telescopic pole to remove leaves and debris.
2. Then use the brush with the telescopic pole to brush the walls and steps.
3. Clean the pool liner, especially the waterline.
4. Also clean the filter so it is ready for closing.

On the day of the pool closing, begin by lowering the water level to prepare the pool for winterization. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

• Main Drain: If your pool has a main drain, use it to drain water and lower the pool level.
• No Main Drain: If your pool does not have a main drain, use a submersible pump with a drain hose to remove the water.

*Lower the water to 18-20'' below the skimmer.

Once the water level has been lowered, prepare the skimmer for winter to protect it against frost. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

• For an in-ground pool, install the winterizing plug in the skimmer, then place the styrofoam to absorb ice pressure.
  
  
• For an above-ground pool, place the styrofoam and foam rope in the skimmer. Then, raise the pump hose, attach it to the pool wall with a zip tie, and then add a second foam rope into the hose.

Once the water level has been lowered, protect the water returns to prevent damage caused by freezing. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

• For an above-ground pool, install the yellow winterizing plug on the water return, especially in areas with heavy snowfall.
• Use the provided wrench to screw it in tightly.
• For an in-ground pool, after blowing out the lines, add pool antifreeze to the pipe, then install the winterizing plug with the provided wrench.

* Add Teflon tape to the threads of the plugs before installing them.

Before winter, make sure that no water remains inside the heat pump to prevent damage caused by freezing. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

1. Disconnect the plumbing fittings from the heat pump to allow the water to drain completely.
2. Blow out the lines using a wet/dry vacuum to remove as much water as possible from the system.
3. If you are not sure that no water remains inside, add swimming pool antifreeze and install winterizing plugs as needed.

Before winter, remove and clean the salt cell to protect it from freezing and accumulated deposits. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

1. Remove the salt cell from the plumbing system.
2. Install it on the cleaning stand and use a cleaner designed for salt cells.
3. Once clean and thoroughly rinsed, store the cell in a dry, frost-free location.
4. Install the replacement pipe in place of the cell to properly seal the plumbing for winter.

The procedure may vary depending on the type and model of light installed. Always consult the manufacturer's recommendations before proceeding. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

• For an above-ground pool, a wall-mounted light can usually remain in place for the winter, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer. If the light is installed in the skimmer, remove it and store it in a dry, frost-free location.
  
• For an in-ground pool, choose the winterization plug suitable for your light model and install it according to the recommended procedure.

Before winter, lubricate the seals to prevent them from drying out, cracking, or sticking. (These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

1. Locate the equipment seals, such as those on fittings, the filter, the pump, and disassembled parts.
2. Clean the seals if necessary, then apply a thin layer of lubricant designed for pool seals.
3. Properly replace the seals or store disassembled parts in a dry, frost-free location.

Before closing, a thorough water analysis should have been performed to properly balance the pool's parameters. Once the water level has been lowered, add the winterizing kit according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This will help keep the water clear and clean until it freezes. The goal is to preserve the water quality during the winter so that in the spring, when the ice thaws, the pool will be clearer and easier to get back into operation.

(These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

Once the pool is closed, install a leaf net to prevent leaves and debris from accumulating in the water during the fall. Place an air pillow under the net to elevate it. Ensure that leaves remain out of the water as much as possible. This helps prevent them from decomposing in the pool and contaminating the water before it freezes. Remove accumulated leaves from the net as needed during the fall.

(These steps do not apply to the Urbania pool.)

Once the pool is closed and winterization steps are complete, install the opaque cover to protect the water from debris, dirt, and light during the winter. Spread the opaque cover over the entire surface of the pool. It should lie directly on the remaining water in the pool and be properly positioned. Secure it firmly according to the system designed for your pool so that it remains securely in place throughout the winter.
